Foundation czAR(T) Krzywogońca

Cekcyn, Poland

The czAR(T) Krzywogońca foundation is run in a traditional Bory Tucholskie style complex, providing a space for meetings and creative activities. At the base of all their activities lies the idea of the meeting of various cultures, nationalities and spheres of interest. The aims of the foundation are: to initiate international artistic exchanges and intercultural dialogue; to develop and disseminate artistic and literary creativity; to promote art; to integrate creative, academic and rural communities; to maintain tradition and develop national, civic and cultural awareness; to create and disseminate traditional products from Bory Tucholskie; to run activities supporting the development and integration of local communities; to spread and promote ecological values; to level the playing field in education and access to culture and art in rural areas; to build an open civil society and support democratic ideals.

Thus, czAR(T) Krzywogońca hosts many exciting events throughout the year, including poetry writing, granting financial support for books publishing, and hosting a writer-in-residence program as well as translation workshops. It is a place where writers, artists and the public come together. They also organise many events that are geared towards the promotion of local and regional culture. The foundation is chaired by a very experienced project manager, Ms. Grazyna Wojcieszko, who graduated in Literary-Artistic Studies at the Jagiellonian University in Poland. With a MA in computer sciences from the French universities Paris-Sud and Pierre-et-Marie-Curie, she was employed by the European Commission in Brussels to manage scientific research projects.
