Objectives / Content:

The third European Project Fair of Cultural Centres entitled “European Cultural Centres live Intercultural Dialogue” has taken place in Brussels. This year’s main focus tackles all those projects that enable, promote and broach the issue of intercultural dialogue. Cultural centres all over Europe were invited to present their different approaches to this subject. Special emphasis was on the different sectors where the projects are taking place or as which they have been categorised (such as education, lifelong learning, inter-religious dialogue, inter-ethnic dialogue etc.) in order to make the broad spectrum of cultural work visible at European level and to inspire the participating cultural centres by good practices.

Other highlights were: the exchange of experiences on how to deal with human resources in the cultural centres (staff, technicians as well as volunteers etc.), workshops on funding opportunities through EU programmes such as Grundtvig and European Voluntary Service, and experience exchange on regional cooperation. Furthermore, the conference provided information on culture civil society platforms as communication tool with the European Commission and news on next ENCC activities.

Organisers: Vereniging Vlaamse Cultuur (VVC), ASTRAC - Réseau des Centres culturels de la Communauté Wallonie-Bruxelles, Association des Centres Culturels de la Communauté française de Belgique (ACC)
