Your chance to have your non-urban cultural initiative featured in our upcoming publication

Since 2016, through our working group on non-urban culture, we have been studying and discussing the compex dynamics that make non-urban creative ecosystems thrive.

Now, to mark the working group's 10th anniversary, we are preparing a publication that will celebrate creative ecosystems in transformation. This online publication, which will take the form of a book, will focus on the internal and external links that constitute local creative ecosystems and allow them to sustainably last in time, transform, and be reproduced. Edited and published with the support of the Institute of European Studies of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow as a scientific partner, the book will be launched in September 2027, on the occasion of our 2027 annual conference, which will provide the featured case studies a highly valuable platform to amplify their visibility and outreach.

To bring the book to life, we are looking for cultural operators who can provide relevant case studies related to internal and external components of vibrant creative ecosystems, including co-living or residency programmes in non-urban areas. Please note that this will not be a scientific publication: our aim is to reach wide audiences, including cultural practitioners and authors who might not have a research background, but who passionately represent the localities where they live and/or work, to spark the multiplier effect. This call is therefore open to everyone willing to present inspiring local practices, fitting to the theme of the publication.
