Future Memory Lab

Addressing the need for professionals ethically transforming Europe's audiovisual heritage into compelling art, Future Memory Lab (FML) is Europe's pioneering training programme blending critical inquiry, ethical reflection, and AI tools (AIrchive) with practice in archive-based art (film, theatre, exhibitions, VR, gaming). It interconnects AV professionals with authors across disciplines. Connected with memory institutions, FML offers a year-long program with 12+ core participants and 99+ through four workshops in Prague, Bologna, and Jihlava, plus mentoring and webinars. By re-using archival materials, FML supports sustainable production, focusing on complex narratives and innovative art. It develops AIrchive for semantic search and publishes ethical recommendations.
