Bundesverband Soziokultur (BVS)

German Association of Socioculture

Berlin, Germany

The Bundesverband Soziokultur (BVS) is a federal network of 14 regional working groups representing the interests of some 600 German socio-cultural centres and initiatives. BVS ensures information, education and support for its members. A wide range of publications (e.g. the quarterly members' magazine, SOZIOkultur), promote dialogue on the cultural scene.

Socio-cultural centres and initiatives play an essential role in Germany’s cultural life. One of BVS’s main objectives is to have this role recognised, as well as that of cultural workers.
