ERMÜ is a non-profit organisation uniting Estonian cultural centres that are funded by local governments. ERMÜ also represents the cultural workers in these cultural centres. The aims of ERMÜ is to develop national awareness on the importance of cultural centres in local communities; initiate the creation and adoption of a legal act as basis for the activities of cultural centres; participate in creating cultural policy at local, regional and state level; elaborate the professional standards for the employees of cultural centres; generate new and strengthen the existing relations between cultural centres in Estonia and abroad. They are part of the Baltic cooperation within the ENCC.
